Poster Monday initial ideas

initial ideas - Monday

With the introduction of the brief, creating a rule of which stems from cell phone numbers of 0-9, I experimented with using three different rules for the numbers. The first rule was slitting out circles, with making it bigger as the number increases. With this rule, I created a pattern of which was then distorted to experiment with the different processess of generating an idea. For the second poster, I used the circle pattern, with making it smaller and incorporating the Christmas task of graphic scores, to create a different outcome. For the other rule, it was to have the angle of the line going anti clockwise more as the number increases, and also that with every even number the line width increase by double the amount.

Feedback:

experiment with colour
work on adding text
experiment using just type
why just pattern?
why no physical attributes?
why just lines?
collage using paper
use 2 colours
use lines as a grid for the type
the distorted one is the best

with the feedback, I agree with most points, as I struggled with coming up with designs, to which I went back to basic rules that can be used to incorporate the numbers. So, my designs are flat and basic, without typography. So to develop, I should use the feedback, of using colour to enhance them, and using physical experiments like collage, which would make the simple designs much more effective. Also, I should start looking at how typography can be incorporated, without letting the image dictate the type.
