Research- Too good to go app

Too good to go is an app of which fights food waste by giving stores a platform of which they can sell their leftover food at a discounted price. Their mission is to 'reduce food waste worldwide and having the vision to create a world where 'food produced' means 'food consumed'.
stats that 1/3 of all food produced is wasted, with stating that if the food wasted was a country it would be the third largest emitter of co2. The business so far has partnered with over 15,000 stores, has 6 million users of the app and 7.8 million meals have been rescued.

"I would recommend this app to every business that sells food in any quantity, size or shape. We waste too much food in the country and this is a tiny light in the black hole that is filled with wasted food. In short, everyone in hospitality needs to think hard about why they have not signed up already." - Laurence, Yo! Sushi

Evaluating the app:

  • you sign in - Facebook or email
  • the number shown of the community you're involved in - the personalisation
  • the ability to sign up for emails - alert
  • the navigation button on the top left- having the different options to press on
  • main page shows the food places with choice of chaining to see them via where the are on the map
  • the ability to add favourites
  • being able to filter the restaurants via the meals available, the time to collect and the type of food place
  • has a green or red circle icon depending if theres food or not
  • swipe down to see the list of the food places - good UI
  • the app is easy to understand with the information provided clear to what you are purchasing
  • states how far away the food places are from your location
  • can easily access your profile where you can change your payment method etc
  • clean and simple aesthetic
  • the use of the turquoise colour for the colour scheme
  • search bar to search the store name
  • the biggest problem I find with the app is it's too vague when giving the description for the food, stating it could be a sandwich, but if it had a list to what it could be it would be more ideal
