Complementary contrast
Complementary colours are colours that are opposite to each other on the colour wheel. The high contrast of complementary colours creates a vibrant look especially when used at full saturation. The colour scheme must be managed well. To get a better result the use of complementary colours should be managed. The optimal harmonious effect of two complementary colours depends on the correct quantity of surface area that each colour occupies in an image. Using the brightness values of the colours allows one to determine numerical ratios for the harmonious quantities of the colours to each other. The denim is used in natural lighting in order to make a vibrant blue, which is then used with the orange to collate together to make each colour more brighter as a result. The complementary colour of the blue, is orange, which in the images uses the ratio of 1:3 blue to 2:3 orange, to try and create the harmonious proportions of the colours. The denim does enhance the denim, however the orange is still the focal point in the images.
