Steve Hockett workshop

For Friday's workshop, we took on tasks of which were based upon the concept of working in a different way, allowing accidental mistakes of which can be taken to make something great. The task which we were given was to use a logo which we could see and draw it, with passing it around 9 times, each time having a different amount of time to copy the drawing, resulting in a completely different copy of the logo. Next, we thought of an animal and then passed it around again, 9 times, of which we now added something extra to the drawing and then sometimes we took something away, resulting in a creature of some sort. From these tasks, we were then given 2 hours to create a zine, using our drawings. Our idea for the zine was to take the creatures wearing hates and to collate them, naming it Hats for Ascot. The images chosen were collated and inverted to create different coloured lines, creating an interesting and different tone to the images. Overall, the workshop introduced a different way of creating a zine, with using 'mistakes' in order to generate a theme and create an interesting zine.
