sympathy/suspicion
A vali response? - not- spectator- link between far away suffering and privileged viewer
impotence -
innocence- we haven't had this suffering
suspicion? information in newspapers- just text at the time
'we are loosing our capacity to react'
each situation has to be turned into a spectacle to be real - only images not reality
ethically assume images have little effect through over saturation
cynical pf the images ability to record reality as it really is
close to the event but without risk
ecology of images- conservative as it assumes that every spectator is equal
cut back images - protect meaning of them - reality the depict
